Every Child Deserves a Chance to Learn

Activities, Events, Support Posted on Sat, June 27, 2026 11:41:00

Education is more than just books and classrooms-it is hope, confidence, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. For thousands of children living in the slums of Bangladesh, however, education remains a daily struggle. Poverty often forces them to choose survival over learning, leaving many dreams unfinished before they even begin.

At Alingan Foundation, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a better future-regardless of their financial circumstances.

Many children in underserved communities face overwhelming challenges. Their families struggle to afford basic necessities, making school fees, books, uniforms, and learning materials an impossible burden. Without support, many bright young minds are forced to leave school despite their passion for education.

To help change this reality, Alingan Foundation provides free educational support and learning opportunities for children from underprivileged communities. Our mission is to create a safe and encouraging environment where every child can continue learning, develop valuable life skills, and dream of a brighter future.

None of this would be possible without our incredible supporters and sponsors.

Compassionate individuals from different backgrounds have chosen to sponsor children’s education through Alingan Foundation. Their generosity helps cover educational expenses such as school supplies, books, uniforms, learning materials, and other essential needs. Because of these kind-hearted sponsors, many children can continue their education with confidence and hope.

Every sponsored child represents more than financial support-they represent a future filled with possibilities. A single act of kindness can help a child stay in school, discover their talents, and work toward becoming a teacher, doctor, engineer, artist, or community leader.

When you invest in a child’s education, you invest in a stronger community and a brighter future for generations to come. Education has the power to break the cycle of poverty, inspire confidence, and create lasting change.

Every smile in our classroom tells a story of hope. Every lesson learned brings a child one step closer to achieving their dreams. Together, we can ensure that financial hardship never becomes the reason a child loses the opportunity to learn.

If our mission touches your heart, we invite you to become part of this journey. Whether through sponsorship, a one-time donation, or simply sharing our story, your support can make a lasting difference in a child’s life.

Fatema’s Story of Hope and Determination

Support Posted on Mon, June 22, 2026 15:34:20

Education inequality in Bangladesh remains one of the greatest challenges facing thousands of families. For many children, going to school is not simply part of daily life—it is a dream that requires extraordinary sacrifice from their parents. Behind every child who continues learning despite financial hardship is a family making difficult choices every single day.

Fatema is one of the students attending coaching classes at Alingan Foundation. Her story reflects the reality of countless children across Bangladesh who refuse to give up on education, even when life is filled with obstacles. Her father works as a security guard, and her mother earns a modest income by working as a domestic helper. Although their earnings are limited, they continue to prioritize their children’s education because they believe that learning is the key to a brighter future.

Every morning, Fatema arrives with her books, carrying not only school materials but also hope. Her determination reminds us that education is about much more than classrooms and textbooks. It is about dreams, confidence, and the opportunity to build a better life.

This documentary does not focus on poverty alone. Instead, it highlights the dignity, resilience, and quiet strength of families who continue to invest in their children’s future despite financial struggles. Fatema’s parents demonstrate that love is often expressed through sacrifice, hard work, and an unwavering belief that education can change lives.

Across Bangladesh, thousands of children share similar experiences. Many families struggle to balance daily expenses while ensuring their children remain in school. Their stories deserve understanding, respect, and recognition—not sympathy. These families remind us that every educational achievement is supported by unseen determination and countless personal sacrifices.

At Alingan Dhaka, we are committed to sharing authentic human stories that inspire awareness, empathy, and hope. By documenting real experiences with honesty and respect, we hope to encourage meaningful conversations about education, opportunity, and the strength of the human spirit.

If this story touched your heart, please help us reach more people by sharing the documentary with your friends and family. Your support helps raise awareness about education inequality and encourages more people to believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and build a better future.

Two Sisters Refuse to Give Up on Their Dream

Support Posted on Mon, June 15, 2026 11:15:00

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and build a better future. Yet for many families living in Korail Slum, Dhaka, education is not simply a right-it is a daily struggle. Poverty, limited income, and rising living costs force countless children to fight for an education that many others take for granted.

Among these children are two young sisters who continue to dream of becoming doctors. Their story reflects the determination, resilience, and hope that exist even in the most challenging circumstances.

Life Inside Korail Slum

Korail Slum is one of the largest informal settlements in Dhaka, where thousands of families work hard every day just to survive. Most households depend on unstable, low-income jobs that barely cover essential living expenses.

The sisters’ father works in a small scrap shop, earning just enough to support the family’s basic needs. After paying for food, rent, and other daily necessities, very little remains for educational expenses.

Despite these financial hardships, the family continues to value education and encourages the girls to keep studying.

A Dream to Become Doctors

The two sisters share one powerful dream-they want to become doctors.

Their goal is inspired by the healthcare challenges they witness every day in their community. Many people living in Korail struggle to access proper medical treatment due to limited healthcare facilities and financial barriers.

The sisters believe that one day they can return as qualified doctors and help improve the lives of people in their own neighborhood.

The Hidden Cost of Education

For families living in poverty, education involves much more than classroom learning.

Expenses such as school admission fees, uniforms, books, coaching, transportation, and examination costs often become overwhelming obstacles. These financial pressures cause many children to leave school before completing their education.

The story of these two sisters represents the reality faced by many children across urban slums in Bangladesh, where talent and determination alone are often not enough without financial stability.

Hope That Refuses to Fade

Although their journey is difficult, the sisters continue to study with hope and determination. Their dream reminds us that education has the power to transform lives, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for future generations.

Their story is not simply about poverty-it is about courage, resilience, and refusing to give up despite countless challenges.

Why Stories Like This Matter

Documenting real-life experiences helps create awareness about the everyday struggles faced by vulnerable communities. By sharing these stories, we encourage greater understanding, empathy, and appreciation for the importance of equal access to education.

Every child deserves the chance to pursue their dreams, regardless of where they are born.

Child Education Lost to Poverty

Support Posted on Fri, April 24, 2026 08:30:43

What happens when a child’s dream of education slowly disappears—not because of lack of interest, but because of poverty? This story takes you inside a reality many people never truly see, where survival becomes more urgent than a child’s future.

In Korail slum, one of Dhaka’s most densely populated areas, Afroza starts her day before the sun rises. She works in other people’s homes, cleaning, cooking, doing whatever she can to earn a small income. Her husband pulls a rickshaw through the busy streets, working long hours under the heat and exhaustion. Yet despite all their effort, their income is never enough.

Their biggest struggle is not just food or shelter-it is their daughter’s lost future.

Moriyom once went to school with hope in her eyes. Carrying her books, she believed in a different life—one beyond the narrow alleys of the slum. Afroza enrolled her with determination, dreaming that education would change everything.

But slowly, reality became heavier than hope.

School fees, though small for many, became impossible for them to manage. One missed payment led to another. Eventually, Moriyom stopped going to school. There was no announcement, no final day—just a quiet ending.

Now, her books remain untouched. The dreams she once held are slowly fading. Instead of preparing for lessons, she sits inside a small room, watching life move forward without her.

Afroza continues to work every day, carrying both responsibility and silent pain. As a mother, she understands what this loss means—even if no words are spoken.

This is not just one family’s story. It is a reflection of a larger reality where many children are forced to give up education-not by choice, but by circumstance. Poverty does not just take away comfort; it takes away opportunity.

And yet, within this struggle, there is dignity. There is resilience. There is a quiet strength that continues despite everything.

Maybe the question is not why this happens.

Maybe the real question is-how many dreams must break before we truly begin to see?

A Real Story of Education, Poverty, and Hope in Korail Slum

In the heart of Korail slum, Dhaka, where survival is a daily struggle, lives a young girl named Ratna. Surrounded by poverty, limited resources, and uncertainty, Ratna carries a dream that refuses to disappear.

She wants to become a doctor-not for fame or money, but to serve people.

This is her real story.

Life Inside Korail Slum: A Daily Battle

Korail is one of the largest slums in Bangladesh. Families here face constant challenges:

  • No reliable gas for cooking
  • Unsafe drinking water
  • Poor roads and sanitation
  • Irregular electricity

Ratna’s family survives on her father’s income as a security guard and her brother’s job as a cleaner. Despite their hard work, the income is not enough to support education for all children in the family.

Because of financial hardship:

  • Ratna’s elder brothers had to stop studying and start working
  • Her sisters were married off early
  • Education became a privilege, not a right

Yet Ratna continues to study.

Education: Ratna’s Only Way Forward

Ratna is currently studying in Class 6. She attends coaching at Alingan Foundation, where she receives educational support, care, and encouragement.

Her parents deeply want her to succeed-but their means are limited.

Jannat is not just another child of Korail; she is a symbol of courage, hope, and unshakable dreams. Despite living in one of the toughest environments, she carries within her a dream that lights up even the darkest corners of her life-to one day become a doctor.

A Childhood of Struggles

Life has not been kind to Jannat. With her father gone, her mother is left to shoulder the unbearable weight of keeping the family afloat. Every day brings new financial worries—sometimes even a single meal is uncertain. Education, for many in her situation, would be a luxury.
